UPDATE: Victim, suspect identified in Marquette stabbing

Officers from the Marquette City Police Department responded to a stabbing at 2050 Wright Street Apartment 7 around 1:45 a.m. on Friday.
According to police, officers arrived on the scene to find 21-year-old Marquette resident Brandon Allen LaFavre was located in the residence deceased. Ishpeming resident Derek James Blemke, 24, was arrested and charged with open murder in connection to LaFavre's death.
Police say the investigation is ongoing.
The Marquette City Police were assisted by Northern Michigan University Public Safety, Michigan State Police, Michigan State Police Crime Lab, Marquette City Fire Department and UP Health System EMS.
