One airlifted to trauma center, struck tree on four-wheeler

DICKINSON COUNTY, Mich. (WLUC) - A man was airlifted after striking a tree on Saturday.

Michigan State Police, Iron Mountain post went to an ORV crash at 7:14 p.m. on Norway Truck Trail in Dickinson County where they found a single four wheeler rider.

A 31-year-old man failed to negotiate a turn and struck a tree.

He was wearing a helmet and sustained serious injuries.

He was taken to Dickinson County Hospital by Integrity Care EMS and flown to a trauma center in Milwaukee, WI by Valley Med Flight.
Speed and alcohol are believed to be a factor.

Troopers were assisted by Integrity Care EMS, Norway Fire Department, North Alert Ambulance, and Era Chevrolet Towing.
