Non-life threatening injuries reported in two-vehicle crash Wednesday

MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WLUC) - According to the Marquette County Sheriff's Department, a two-car personal injury crash happened this morning on US-41.

The crash occurred on US-41 at CR-HQ in Marquette Township around 7:40 AM. Tracie Dietz, 33, of Negaunee was driving a Ford station wagon, where she was stopped east bound on US-41 in the left-hand turning lane to CR-HQ. Kristine Marana, 35, who was also East bound on US-41, driving a Chevrolet station wagon was preparing to turn North on HQ.

The two vehicles collided with each other when Marana slid into Dietz's vehicle on the icy road.

Dietz was treated by EMS Personal from the Marquette Township Fire Department and transported to UP Health System-Marquette for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Marana was not injured in the crash, but she was cited for violation of the basic speed limit.

The Marquette County Sheriff's Deputies were assisted at the scene by the Michigan State Police and Marquette Township Fire Department.
