MATCHWOOD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WLUC) - No injuries have been reported after a vehicle caught fire while on the road in Matchwood Township Thursday.
A trooper from the Michigan State Police Wakefield Post was dispatched to a vehicle, which caught fire while travelling on M-28 in Matchwood Township.
Subsequent investigation revealed that the vehicle, a 2003 Pontiac Montana, carrying three people was travelling west on M-28 when the engine caught fire.
The driver pulled onto the south side of M-28, west of Applekamp Road, where the driver and two passengers exited before the vehicle became engulfed in flames.
There were no reported injuries.
Crews from the Ontonagon County Road Commission were on scene assisting with traffic control while the Bergland Township Fire Department was on scene mitigating the vehicle fire.
