HANCOCK, Mich. (WLUC) - The Houghton County Sheriff's Department says no one was injured when a truck went up in flames Wednesday afternoon in Hancock.

It happened around 2 p.m. on US-41 on Quincy Hill. The sheriff's office says the gas tank slipped from a strap holding it to the vehicle, causing it to hit the road and spark a fire.

The driver was the only person in the truck at the time and was uninjured.

The Quincy-Franklin-Hancock Township Fire Department was able to quickly extinguish the fire.
