MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - A new non-profit group is looking to kick-start its fundraising efforts by partnering with a Marquette business. It's called the Caregiver Incentive Project (CIP) and they're teaming up with Escape Marquette.
The Caregiver Incentive Project's mission is to end the shortage of qualified in-home caregivers. On July 18, they're collecting donations at Escape Marquette and for a $50 donation, people can participate in a VIP experience in one of three game rooms. There will be food, drinks an live music as well.
Organizers say it'll be a fun event but it will also help them reach their goal.
"Ultimately that's what we're about because the people that receive the care, our ultimate goal of this is to improve their life, and remove that doubt that they can't find caregivers and help them by increasing the number of caregivers that are available," said Eric Paad, from the CIP.
The launch event is Thursday, July 18, at Escape Marquette in the lower level of the Masonic Building downtown. Doors open at 6 p.m. for the event.
