New Senior Pastor at Marquette's Messiah Lutheran Church

MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - A celebration took place at the Messiah Lutheran Church in Marquette Sunday. A gathering of 200 people, pastors, and clergy from all over participated in the installation of new Senior Pastor Andrew Plocher. It’s been 10 years since the last senior pastor installation service so they commemorated it with music, prayer, and a reception.

Pastor Plocher will be jumping right into his position, continuing the church’s pre-existing programs previously set in place by the last pastor.

"Once he is familiar with the programming that we do, his first task is to call on an associate pastor because we are also looking for an associate pastor,” said Paul Marin, Messiah Lutheran Church Congregational Council President.

As for plans for after his installment, once he is settled into the position, he will be working with the Messiah Lutheran congregation on expanding outreach in the community.

Pastor Andrew Plocher comes from the Grace Lutheran Church in Gwinn.
