MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - The Northern Michigan University marketing group, Invent@NMU, opened an idea kiosk in the Lydia M. Olson library Tuesday. The group celebrated the launch by giving away free merchandise and giving people a chance to win a brand-new iPad. There was also free food and refreshments.
The kiosk provides a way for students, faculty, and community members to submit ideas to Invent@NMU. The group then helps people make their ideas become a reality.
"The kiosk is an opportunity for students, faculty, and staff to submit any business or product ideas and then receive help from us to move them forward. What we're doing here today is just a celebration of the launch and just getting some attention into our program and what we do," said Invent@NMU Marketing Coordinator, Kylie Bunting.
Bunting adds that the group has other kiosks around the U.P., but that this is the first one in Marquette. She says they plan on opening another one in Negaunee next week.
Bunting reminds people that they can always stop in at Invent@NMU, located by Smoothie King, to submit ideas, or they can go online and do it through the Invent@NMU website.
