NEGAUNEE, Mich. (WLUC) - The Negaunee Fire Department honored lives lost on Sept. 11, 2011 Wednesday morning to mark 18 years since the terrorist attacks.

For the fourth year, the fire department raised the American flag over Teal Lake at the intersection of US-41 and Croix Street in Negaunee.

The flag was displayed from 6:00 a.m. until noon Wednesday.

The Negaunee Fire Department paid tribute to the lives lost.

"To remember the fallen firefighters, police officers, first responders and civilians," Lt. Eric Pellinen said.

Lt. Pellinen spent his morning off manning the fire truck, receiving honks from supporters passing by.
