MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - With February's snowfall, it's hard to think that summer is only four months away.
For Northern Michigan University students, it's crunch time to find summer internships and employment opportunities.
To assist students to find U.P. and statewide jobs, NMU hosted a summer employment fair. 90 employers were originally scheduled to attend, however, with the recent weather, only 60 were able to make it.
Despite NMU's snow day on Wednesday, students still showed up with resumes in hand.
This is the third employment fair of the school year that the university hosts to prepare students for their future.
"Employers are interested in getting people on board now so this is a great opportunity," said assistant NMU career services director, Katie Korpi. "We are hoping students get opportunities they wouldn't otherwise get."
For the students that couldn’t make Wednesday’s event, NMU's career services center is available in person and online through their job search web system called Handshake.
