NMU students and community hear from successful executive and entrepreneur
Tuesday night a successful business executive, entrepreneur and Northern Michigan University alumnus led a presentation at NMU. Martin Heikel graduated from NMU in the early 80's and then went on to be director of global account sales for MCI, a telecommunications company, then vice president of Verizon Envisioned. After that, he looked to start his own business and founded a mobile transition app in New York City called ZabCab.
"We have a lot of students who have dreams, I'd like to talk to them and maybe inspire them about pursing some dreams and then I'd like to put some reality to things too, it doesn't sort of happen by chance, there's things that have to be done, you have to work hard, you have to be determined, you have to have some grit," Heikel said.
The NMU College of Business invited Heikel to speak.
