MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - Northern Michigan University students were busy exploring the Academic Mall earlier Wednesday for the campus' third annual Snowfest.
This winter delight is the campus semester kickoff event.
Inside Jamrich, about 30 organizations lined up with their booths encouraging students to join their club.
Outside, outdoor recreation leaders welcomed students to try equipment thanks to their partnership with Noquemanon Trail Network.
"There's a lot of snowy months in Marquette, and we want our students to adventure and get outdoors, instead of being in their dorm rooms all winter long. This is an opportunity for them to get outdoors, and we think that this will hopefully keep them here at NMU and get them to experience everything we have to offer,” said Outdoor Recreation Manager, Chris Smith.
NMU staff look forward to growing their partnership with the NTN.
Staff also hope their efforts help students join activities indoors or outdoors.
