NMU Forest Roberts Theatre ships Letters to Santa

MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - Northern Michigan University is helping you get into the holiday spirit. They've started their 2nd annual Letters to Santa event.

Now until December 9, kids from 1 to 92 can fill out a letter to Santa that will be shipped to the North Pole. Mailboxes can be found at the Forest Roberts Theatre lobby or University Center building on campus. Everyone who mails a letter will receive a handwritten postcard from Wildcat Willie and a ticket to see NMU's presentation of Scrooge!

Organizers say the letters a great way to get into the Christmas spirit.

“We're definitely having a lot of excitement within the community, people noticing what's going on and asking about it. That's always great,” said Bill Digneit, Director of Theater at the Forest Roberts Theatre. “We want to make sure that we're part of the community and people feel like they can come share the holiday spirit here at the F.R.T.”

Santa Claus himself will make an appearance before every Scrooge! show. Scrooge! runs from December 12 to the 1 at the F.R.T.

Show times and ticket information can be found on the NMU Theater website at https://www.nmu.edu/forestrobertstheatre/christmas-carol-0.
