NMU Bookstore reopens in new space

MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - After spending the last year in two temporary locations, Northern Michigan University students can finally get their books and supplies in one convenient location.

The store opened Monday as part of phase one of the "Northern Center" construction project.

Workers say the new space is more of a modern retail space, with clothing and supplies out front and textbooks stored in the back.

The goal of the design is to help today's modern student.

"It's great to be back in one spot, and we're excited to be in this location for the end of the semester when students are bringing back their rental books and they know they can bring them here, and commencement is coming up and a lot of visitors, so we're excited to be able to show off this new space," said store manager Paul Wright.

Phase two of the renovation project will conclude in August of next year.
