Motorcycle-deer crash leaves two injured

WAUCEDAH TWP, Mich. (WLUC) A motorcycle rider and his passenger are recovering tonight after colliding with a deer. It happened on Hamilton Lakes Road in Waucedah Township at about 10:20 last night.

The 50-year-old Loretto man driving the vehicle had life-threatening injuries, but according to Lieutenant Derek Dixon of the Dickinson County Sheriff's Department, he's expected to fully recover. The 45-year-old female passenger was not seriously injured.

Dixon said the motorcycle collided with a deer near Tower Road. The driver was not wearing a helmet and Dixon said alcohol was a factor in the accident.

Names are not being released at this time, and the accident is currently under investigation.
