Motor sports store opening in Escanaba

ESCANABA, Mich. (WLUC) - A new motor sports store opens Tuesday in Escanaba.

Behind the doors of the old Northern Motors on Ludington Street, clean-up work finished Monday to prepare for the opening of Race Driven.

"Race Driven is a manufacture of power sports parts and accessories. We do ATVs, UTVs, and dirt bikes,” says Race Driven CEO Brian Heiting.

The company bought a building that is on the corner of Ludington and Lincoln Street, and bought out Polaris.

They now are moving KTM, which is a motorsports brand, to Escanaba, as well as offering Polaris here, too.

To make room for their supplies, equipment and power sport products, everything from the previous dealership must go.

The next step now is getting all the equipment and gear to this location

Throughout the day, the company worked together and drove over products from its other stores.

"A lot of teamwork going on. We're excited to eventually get opened here, and offer the full sales service and part experience, that we feel we can give that's better than most places,” says Race Driven General Manager, Jesse Zambon.

Escanaba will now have more to choose from when it comes to premium power sports products.

"There is no one more excited than me to welcome race driven to our family of businesses downtown. I think they're a wonderful addition and I think they'll be wildly successful,” says Escanaba Downtown Development Authority Executive Director, Ed Legault.

Even though this is a process, this location will be open Tuesday.
