Mothers Against Drunk Driving give Lifesaver Awards to U.P. law enforcement
Three Upper Peninsula police officers have brought home Lifesaver Awards recently. The Lifesaver Awards are handed out by the Michigan office of Mothers Against Drunk Driving MADD.
Deputy Aaron Griffin from Marquette County received outstanding deputy. Officer Kirby Frantti from the Ishpeming Police Department and officer Cody Mayer from the Sault St. Marie post received outstanding rookie of the year.
Deputy Griffin has been in law enforcement since 2012. This past year he had 65 arrests due to drunk or drugged driving.
"I'm very proud, I'm honored to have received such a great award from such a great organization," said Deputy Griffin. "Mothers Against Drunk Driving is a phenomenal organization and I really like the work that they do in getting the victims of drunk driving the help that they need."
The Gladstone Post of the Michigan State Police was also recognized for their excellence with an award.
