BARAGA, Mich. (WLUC) - Two teachers at Baraga Schools have started a warm and welcoming tradition for their students to start each morning.
Kathi Warner and Elisa Anderson have their children greet each other before class. Students can choose what greeting they want as well.
They were inspired to do this after Warner saw a video posted on Facebook, and thought it would work well with her students.
"I always greeted my students at the door myself. I called them, welcomed them by name, told them how glad I was to see them every day, and I think that the children feel a sense of welcome and connection to the school. It warms my heart every day to see how excited they are to be a part of it and be the 'leader greeter,'” said Warner, the transitional Kindergarten teacher.
Warner says other adults have come down to watch her class and are pleased with the outcome.
