HANCOCK, Mich. (WLUC) - Michigan tech's Mont Ripley is getting its slopes ready for the upcoming ski season.
Leading up to opening day the crew at Mont Ripley has been making sure all of the rental gear and the equipment are in top shape. The team has also hired some new staff to help keep the park running smoothly.
Snow guns have also been running nearly nonstop at the slope to make sure the terrain is ready for the start of the season.
"It's always about the snow, skiing isn't skiing and snowboarding isn't snowboarding without snow. Getting that base down with our snow guns, grooming it out and getting it ready that's our focus, just getting the product down on the ground," said Nick Sirdenis, the General Manager of Mont Ripley.
Mont Ripley will open on the weekends starting December 7th and will start running daily December 21st.
