BAY MILLS TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WLUC) - The body of a missing fisherman was recovered Tuesday morning in Pendills Bay near Pendills Creek.
The Michigan State Police Sault Ste. Marie Post says troopers responded to a call for a missing fisherman near Pendills Creek in Bay Mills Township at 10:50 p.m. Monday.
The investigation revealed the fisherman, a 64-year-old Trout Lake man, may have fallen through the ice. Troopers searched the area where the fisherman was known to fish and found some of his property.
The Michigan State Police say the United States Coast Guard found the man's body and has assumed the role as lead investigators. The man's name has not been released. The Coast Guard says the man's body was recovered in Pendills Bay.
The United State Border Patrol, Bay Mills Police Department, Chippewa County Sheriff's Department, Bay Mills Fire Department and Superior Township Fire Department assisted.
