HOUGHTON, Mich. (WLUC) - An event in Houghton on Friday gave community members a chance to play some summer time games in the middle of the winter.
The Mine Shaft entertainment center held a grand opening for their new sportsplex.
Near the beginning of the year, they replaced six of their bowling lanes with golf simulator machines, hockey shooting lanes and batting cages. In addition to the 84 different PGA courses you can play, the golf simulators also include various mini games.
For just two dollars, attendees had the chance to try the various games. The event also fit well with the schedule of surrounding school districts.
“This is a nice time that they actually have the day off of school, that they can come here and try out what they’ve been wanting to get here to try the whole time. As you can see, we’ve got an awesome turnout today, so people are really getting a good feel for it, and it’s awesome,” said Andy Moyle, Owner of The Mine Shaft.
The Mine Shaft Sportsplex is open during normal business hours, and is open to the public.
