Midterm Election Day is here

(WLUC) - Polls are open in Michigan from 7:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. local time Tuesday.

There is much to decide on your ballot. Michigan voters will pick a new governor and decide whether to legalize recreational marijuana. In the 38th State Senate District, a replacement for Tom Casperson, R-Escanaba, will be chosen. There are county-wide proposals for new jails; and local proposals for schools and libraries.

Visit www.Michigan.gov/Vote to review your sample ballot, locate your polling place, track your absentee ballot or contact your clerk.

According to the Michigan Bureau of Elections, peak voting hours are 7:00-9:00 a.m. and 4:00-8:00 p.m.

Remember, there is no straight ticket voting option available on the ballot for this election.

You are not allowed to wear any campaign apparel to the polls, and no cameras are allowed to be used while voting.

Upper Michigan's Elections Source will have complete coverage of results and reaction all night long: live coverage on-air, on the TV6 Mobile News App, on UpperMichigansSource.com and on the TV6 and FOX UP Facebook page.
