MENOMINEE COUNTY, Mich. (WLUC) - A man arrested for crashing into a utility pole, fleeing police and stealing a car was sentenced Friday in Menominee County Circuit Court.
Daniel Nicklaus, 40, entered a no contest plea to breaking and entering with intent November 9. He received 8 months in jail with credit for 57 days.
The court found him guilty of the charge. He was originally charged with unlawful driving away of a vehicle and malicious destruction of property.
Nicklaus crashed into a utility pole in Menominee causing power outages around the city. He then fled the scene and broke into the Wisconsin Public Service building and stole a WPS vehicle.
He crashed that car a short time later and police found him unconscious behind the wheel.
