Finlandia University students take a break from classes to serve the community in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. During the MLK service day, students head out in groups to multiple local service sites. The Finlandia Men's Hockey team spent the afternoon chopping wood for Little Brother's Friends of the Elderly.

"I think getting out of the community and helping Little Brothers provide the firewood that they need to obviously stay warm during the winter is very beneficial not only for them but for us to get a little upper body workout as well," said Finlandia University hockey player Daniel Sarnecki.

Other volunteer activities range from work with elementary students to the Salvation Army. Finlandia holds a service day in honor of Martin Luther King Junior each year.
