Marquette woman sentenced to jail for assaulting a police officer

MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - A Marquette woman arrested for assaulting a police officer was sentenced Monday in Marquette County Circuit Court.

Lorin Rochon, 31, was sentenced to nine months in jail with 205 days credit. She also received 18 months’ probation.

Rochon pleaded no contest to felonious assault on September 26.
On Monday, Feb. 12, Marquette Police Department arrested Rochon on the warrant.

At approximately 3:30 PM on Friday, Feb. 9, the Marquette Police Department arrived at an apartment complex located at 200 Northland Drive for a well-being check on Rochon.

Prior to officers arriving at her door, Rochon opened the door and pointed a firearm at officers.

Marquette Police requested further assistance at which time members of the Michigan State Police and the Marquette County Sheriff’s Department arrived.

Rochon eventually turned the firearm over to a third party.
