Marquette woman cited after two-vehicle crash in Marquette Township

MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WLUC) - The Marquette County Sheriff's Office responded to a two-vehicle crash on US-41 near Brookton Road in Marquette Township on Tuesday afternoon.

Around 2:13 p.m., 29-year-old Erin Seavoy, of Virginia, was driving a 2018 Toyota station wagon and attempting to make a right turn at the Days Inn hotel. 56-year-old Barbara McNece, of Marquette, driving a 2001 Chevrolet four-door vehicle, was also eastbound on US-41, and trying to slow down. McNece lost control on the snow-covered road and collided with Seavoy's vehicle.

McNece was treated by Marquette Township Fire Department EMS personnel, and was transported to U.P. Health System-Marquette for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Seavoy was uninjured in the crash.

McNece was cited for Violation of the Basic Speed Law.

County deputies were assisted at the scene by the Michigan State Police and Marquette Township Fire Department.
