Marquette man set for jury trial for allegedly threatening district judge

MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - UPDATE: Gregory Asgaard, 43 is now set for a jury trial in Marquette County Circuit Court.

He's charged with filing a false report of threat or terrorism.

The trial is set to begin on June 28.
A Marquette man is being charged for allegedly threatening a Marquette district judge.

Gregory Asgaard, 43, is charged with filing a false report or threat of terrorism.

According to Marquette County District Court, Asgaard was arraigned on December 13. The original complaint happened on December 9.

According to his court records, Asgaard is to not have contact with Judge Karl Weber and/or Judge Roger Kangas.

Judge Mark Luoma out of Alger County has been assigned to the case.

His bond was lowered to 10 percent of $5,000 December 27 from $500,000. He posted bond on January 4.

There’s no further court date scheduled at this time.
