Marquette man arrested in Ishpeming on meth charge
A Marquette man was arrested in Ishpeming early Friday morning following a traffic stop.
Officers from the City of Ishpeming Police Department conducted a traffic stop on Division Street near Hematite Street just after midnight on Friday.
A 45-year-old Marquette man was arrested for possession of methamphetamine.
Charges are also pending on a 46-year-old woman from Ishpeming, who was a passenger in the vehicle. She is facing possible charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of analogues.
According to police, a total of 8 grams of meth was located as a result of the traffic stop.
The names of those involved are not being released at this time.
Possession of methamphetamine carries a possible sentence of 10 years in prison. Possession of analogue carries a sentence of up to 2 year in prison.
Since January 1, 2020 the City of Ishpeming Police Department have completed 16 different investigations involving methamphetamine. Out of those 16 investigations, 12 arrests have been made and more may be pending.
