MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - It all started with a little extra energy and a run around the block, now, Kalyn Carr has run at least a mile for 1,000 days straight. Carr, joined by Shawn Cheshire, a blind, national champion paralympian, as well as more friends and family completed the mile Friday afternoon inside the Superior Dome in Marquette.
"It's very inspired, it's very cool but, it's not about me, it's all about her, we've given her many opportunities to say I'm not going to run today, and everyday she wants to get up, she wants to run and she wants to keep going," said Kevin Carr, Kalyn's Father.
"I think it's really cool, I like it a lot, and I actually have this friend, his name is Henrik, he's here today and I inspired him to start running, and now he's been running a mile or more for more than 400 days," said Kalyn Carr.
After finishing up the mile, the group went over to the Crib in Marquette to celebrate with some cake and refreshments.
