MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - In an unofficial kick-off to summer, the Marquette Breakfast Rotary Club is holding it's 28th Annual Fish Boil.
Since 1992 the rotary has held the fish boil on the second Saturday in June at the Lake Superior Theatre Yacht Yard.
The ticket price includes fish or ribs, and an open bar featuring the rotary's famous Long Island iced teas. After eating, people can browse the more than 100 auction items donated by local businesses and individuals.
Organizers say it's a unique experience that helps local children.
"It's different that what you get at a normal fish fry. It's all boiled in water and it has a special seasoning. And they've been doing it, I think this is their 28th year doing it as well. It's just an awesome way to come down and be on the water," said Fish Boil Co-Chair, Zac Couvillion.
The Breakfast Rotary Fish Boil has raised more than $350,000 for area youth programs.
