MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - The Marquette Music Scene is getting ready for their annual music hall of fame induction and party Saturday night. 20 groups, individuals, and even venues will be inducted.

The list includes music educators like Dr. Matt Ludwig, local performers like Mike Letts, NMU radio station... Radio-X and a posthumous induction for Negaunee's Goofus. For organizers it's all about preserving the history.

"It's just my little way to try to help preserve some of that history in Marquette and hopefully we're going to make this grow and somebody else will take over and keep doing it and I don't want to see it stop I want this history preserved some way or another," said Marquette Music Scene's Cindy Engle.

In addition to the ceremony there will be musical performances, a silent auction, raffle, food, and beverages. The 2019 hall of fame induction will be in the Red Room of the Masonic Building in Marquette. Doors open at 6 p.m., the ceremony starts at 7.
