MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - Popular Marquette musicians secured their place in local history Saturday night.
Marquette Music Scene held their Third Annual Marquette Music Hall of Fame induction ceremony Saturday night in the Red Room of the Masonic Square Mall. Local performers, teachers, and even Northern Michigan University's Radio X were among the 17 inducted.
Those who received the honor say, they're proud to be considered among the best contributors to music in the region.
“All the people that are already in the Hall of Fame from years past, I've played with many of them, it's the community thing of it,” said 2019 inductee Michael Letts. “It's really great, the community and the lifelong learning that music really is.”
A special tribute and posthumous induction was held for Negaunee’s Goofus, who was known for his playing of the polkacello.
