Skiers and snowboarders celebrated an exciting day for Marquette Mountain.

On Thursday morning, Marquette Mountain announced the sale of the ski hill and its surrounding 330 acres. Peter and Lois O’Dovero sold the property to Eric and Sarah Jorgensen.

Longtime supporters of the ski hill welcomed the new owners at a last minute celebration in the lodge on Thursday night.

“Huge turnout, especially with pretty much zero degree temperatures out there, negative wind-chill. So, awesome turnout, they came out to celebrate tonight, listen to some music, maybe even a little fireworks going off at some point. Huge turnout from the community, and we’re all just here to celebrate and welcome the new family on board,” said Andrew Farron, General Manager of Marquette Mountain.

Plans for changes at Marquette Mountain will unfold over the next few years. Farron also wanted to express his gratitude to the O’Dovero family for their thirty three years of dedication to the ski hill.
