MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - Marquette Mountain reported a good skiing season so far as of Monday.
Despite warmer temperatures and rain as of late, the ski hill is still open for businesses. They did, however, close on Sunday to maintain their base snow in the wake of warm weather.
With about 50 percent of the mountain open, staff say many skiers made use of the mountain over the holidays.
While there is no tentative date for the remaining trails, snowmaking is underway, and there are still many trails open for skiers.
"It's a super unique hill to begin with, you can hit just about anything you want. From terrain park, to groomers, to cliffs, anything you really want, we offer here," says Kyle Lafrinere, Marketing and Events staff at Marquette Mountain.
The mountain will be running a special on January 3, offering a free lesson to anyone who buys rental equipment and a lift ticket after 5 p.m.
