MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - The Marquette Food Co-op celebrated five years in its Washington Street location Friday.
The move tripled the store's space and allowed the co-op to be able to hold informational events and demonstrations.
To celebrate Friday, the co-op held free taste tests, food demos, and live music throughout the day.
In addition, co-op owners can choose a day to save 5 percent on their entire order. The co-op has over 6,000 members and has become a mainstay in the Downtown Marquette area.
"We really feel like this is a perfect place. It used to be a grocery store, and it felt really good to take an old building and put back in that use it was intended for. It's also meant a lot because we've grown so much," said Co-op Outreach Director Sarah Monte.
The co-op also used the anniversary to unveil its new online grocery ordering. For more information, click here.
