MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - The Economic Club of Marquette County held their final meeting of the 2018-2019 season Monday night. The guest speaker was a tech expert with an eye for the future of the U.P. and cyber security.
Keith Glendon has worked for IBM and as a consultant to global and fortune 100 businesses, as a solutions architect in E-business and computing. Monday night he discussed the possibilities for Marquette to become a technology focused community and the importance of cyber security.
"Tactically, I hope people take away a question 'How does this apply to my business?', because everything I talk about tonight applies to everybody's business today," Glendon said. "Finally I hope they will take away willingness to get involved."
Glendon is also involved in the U.P. Cyber Security Talent Consortium. It's a group of 21 school districts, industry partners and government entities looking to create a hub of talent specific to cyber security. They're having a grand opening at Northern Michigan University May 2.
