Marquette County YMCA Summer Camp begins

MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - Summer Day Camp at the Marquette County YMCA began on Tuesday and will continue through August 23.

The camp runs Monday through Friday, from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

There are lots of things to do. Swimming, playing outside, games, sports, and field trips are among some of the things that are offered. The YMCA offers a game room for the kids where they can play air hockey and Foosball.

Childcare Director Leslie Desjardins says that the kids even do community service over the course of the summer.

"Last year they picked up some garbage along the bike trail, they made some place mats for the [D.J.] Jacobetti Home for Veterans," Desjardin says.

Registration for camp is still open for kids from ages five through 12.

The cost is $35 for members, and $40 for non-members, per day.
