Marquette County Road Commission hits the roads to keep up with April snow storm

MARQUETTE COUNTY, Mich. (WLUC) - Snowy conditions meant plows were out all day long on Sunday and the Marquette County Road Commission was running all vehicles.

Snow plows and sand trucks were continually making the rounds on the roads.

Heavy winds made for deep snow drifts and wet, dense snow made it difficult to keep areas clear.

At the Cedar Motor Inn in Marquette one plow truck was out five times before 10 p.m. to make sure the parking lot stayed as clear as possible.

I've got to make the entrances clear, the main parking lot, easy for people to get in and out," said Reggie Durant, Owner of the Cedar Motor Inn. "That's why I've got to keep pushing it now. Hopefully everybody's going to go to bed and stay in their rooms and I won't have anybody stuck in the lot."

Durant will be out again at 4 a.m. to make sure he can clear out his lot before plow trucks hit the roads.
