Marquette City Police warn of potential vehicle breaking and entering

MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - With the nice summer weather people are spending time outside late into the evening. As a result, the number of car breaking and entering cases will often increase.

The Marquette City Police wants residents to be aware of this, so they can take the necessary steps to protect their belongings. These thefts usually happen at night, in more secluded or even residential areas. Most of the time, multiple vehicles will be targeted at once.

Fortunately, most criminals will be turned away easily.

“So I'd like to remind people to keep their car doors locked and remove any valuables that they may have inside their vehicles,” said Detective Lt. Gregory Kinonen with the Marquette City Police.

The City Police also want to remind cyclists to lock up their bikes, or bring them inside when they aren't being used.
