MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - The Marquette Board of Light and Power held their monthly meeting on Tuesday.
They provided an update on the Marquette Energy Center retrofitting project. SLR Consulting spoke to the success of an acoustic monitoring program, which recognized noise problems affecting area residents.
Their model showed increased noise coming from the engine building. To reduce this, they decided to add insulation to the exterior of the engine building. The addition of the insulation has eliminated nine decibels of sound, roughly half the prior amount.
Additional items on the agenda included the 2018 customer summary, and an approval of a five-year license and support agreement with Sigma Solutions.
