MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - History fans gathered at the Ore Dock in Marquette on Tuesday night for the second installment of 'Maritime History on Tap.'
Put on by the Marquette Maritime Museum, 'Maritime History on Tap' is a winter lecture series about various nautical topics.
The lectures are put on every month from November to April.
On Tuesday, NMU professor Dr. Russ Magnaghi spoke about beloved local landmark, Pictured Rocks.
"We're going to learn a little but about the history of Pictured Rocks and sort of what's happened to pictured rocks throughout the years," says Hilary Billman, director of the Marquette Maritime Museum. "We're closed in the winter so it's a way to kind of stay connected with the community in the winter by letting them learn a little maritime history while having a beer."
The next talk will take place on January 14.
