GOGEBIC COUNTY, Mich. (WLUC) - A Marenisco man arrested for leading police on a high speed chase on a motorcycle is set to be sentenced in Gogebic County Circuit Court.
John Gunderman Jr., 52, pleaded guilty November 27 to operating while intoxicated and fourth degree fleeing a police officer. All other charges were dismissed.
Gogebic County Sheriff’s Office attempted to stop Gunderman but he accelerated and continued east on US-2 for a short distance. He then slowed and made a U-turn accelerating rapidly back west at speeds of 161 mph. Gunderman slowed down then turned south onto M-64 by Fair Avenue before coming to a stop.
A sentencing date is set up for February 26.
