A Manistique woman has been arrested and arraigned on drug charges.

According to the Manisitique Public Safety Department, 27-year-old Samantha Jo Troxler was arrested on Monday, January 13, at 6:15 p.m. on multiple charges.

Officers served a search warrant at 600 Cherry Street, Apartment B-3, which led to the seizure of methamphetamine and other narcotics, in addition to Troxler's arrest.

Public safety said this arrest was part of their continuing investigation into the use and trafficking of methamphetamine and other drugs in the city of Manistique.

Troxler was arraigned on Wednesday, January 15, in the 93rd District Court of Schoolcraft County, on charges issued by County Prosector Tim Noble.

Troxler is facing several charges: Delivery of a controlled substance (narcotics or cocaine) on a school or library property, less than 50 grams. The charge says she did, as a person over the age of 18, possess with intent to deliver to another person, on or within 1,000 feet of school property, less than 50 gram of a mixture containing methamphetamine. This is a felony punishable by 2 to 40 years in prison and/or a $75,000 fine.

She also faces charges of possession of methamphetamine/ecstasy, a felony punishable by 10 years and/or a $15,000 fine; and maintaining a drug house, a high court misdemeanor punishable by 2 years and/or a $25,000 fine. Public safety said she did knowingly or intentionally, keep or maintain, a dwelling that was used for the keeping or selling of controlled substances in violation of Article 7 of the public health code.

Bond was set at $150,000 cash/surety.

Troxler has a probable cause hearing set for January 29, and a preliminary hearing set for 10 a.m. on February 5.

Manistique Public Safety Department was assisted by the Michigan Department of Child Protective Services, the 93rd District Court Probation Department, and the Michigan State Police.

No other details have been released at this time.

Investigation into drug use in Manistique and Schoolcraft County is ongoing.
