UPDATE: Charges may be adjusted after victim in Inwood Township shooting dies

UPDATE: July 1, 10:40 a.m.

The charges against two Manisitique area residents are being changed after a recent incident in Inwood Township.

The Michigan State Police say the victim of the shooting that occurred on June 17 -- now identified as 55-year-old Douglas Orr, of Cooks -- died Sunday, June 28, as a result of his injuries.

MSP says charges against the suspect, 33-year-old Trevor Gault, will be modified by the Schoolcraft County Prosecutor to reflect the victim’s death.

Gault, and his girlfriend 20-year-old Alyssa Jean Arnold, both from the Manistique area, are both facing charges.

Gault was originally charged with Assault with Intent to Murder and Felony Firearms, and his bond was set at $5 million. That charge is expected to change following Orr's death.

Arnold was originally charged with Harboring a Fugitive with bond being set at $500,000.

Investigators are still actively seeking information related to this incident.

Trevor Gault was arraigned at the 93rd District Court on Monday for his involvement with the shooting in Schoolcraft County on June 17th.

Gault has been charged with Assault with Intent to Murder and Felony Firearms. His bond has been set at $5 million.

Gault's girlfriend, Alyssa Jean Arnold, was also arraigned the same day. She has been charged with Harboring a Fugitive with bond being set at $500,000.

The investigation is still ongoing.

A Manistique couple is in jail after last week's attempted homicide in the Cooks area.

The Michigan State Police say Trevor Gault and Alyssa Arnold were taken into custody Saturday without incident. Gault is being held at the Schoolcraft County Jail on a felony warrant for assault with intent to murder. Arnold is also in jail. Additional details are expected after they are arraigned in court.

More information has been released by the Michigan State Police regarding an attempted homicide Wednesday evening.

Michigan State Police - Gladstone Post/Manistique Outpost are actively seeking the whereabouts of 33-year-old Trevor Lee Gault, and his girlfriend 20-year-old Alyssa Jean Arnold, both from the Manistique area.

Gault has an active felony warrant for his arrest for Assault with Intent to Murder from the shooting on Wednesday evening in Schoolcraft County's Inwood Township. Arnold has no warrants for her arrest.

Gault and Arnold are in an unknown vehicle at this time with an unknown direction of travel.

Gault is 5'10" tall and 145 pounds. He has red/auburn hair and brown eyes. MSP says he is of Native American descent.

Arnold is 4'11" tall and 115 pounds. She has hazel eyes and brown hair, which may be dyed blonde.

If anyone knows of the couple's whereabouts, call 911 immediately. Do not approach Gault, as he is considered to be armed and dangerous.

ORIGINAL STORY: June 18, 2:17 a.m.

Investigators want to find a Manistique man after an attempted homicide Wednesday evening.

The Michigan State Police say troopers from the Gladstone post were called to a house on County Road 442 in Inwood Township at approximately 6:12 p.m. Wednesday for a shooting. That's in the Cooks area, west of Manistique.

Investigators determined that a Manistique resident was shot and critically injured. The victim was airlifted to UP Health System-Marquette for further treatment. The person's condition is unknown at this time.

Police say Trevor Gault is being sought for questioning about the shooting.
