Man who broke into Kingsford schools set for sentencing

DICKINSON COUNTY, Mich. (WLUC) - A man arrested for breaking into Kingsford schools pleaded no contest Monday in Dickinson County Circuit Court.

James Richard Stafford, 22 pleaded no contest to breaking and entering with intent. His malicious destruction and larceny charges were dismissed.

On December 23, around 7 AM, Kingsford Public Safety officers responded to a possible breaking and entering at the Kingsford High School and Middle School.

Officers were advised an employee of the school had found a subject inside the building that had broken in.

Officers chased Stafford on foot before arresting him.

A sentencing date is scheduled for June 4.
