Man in prison for ramming vehicles in Escanaba

DELTA COUNTY, Mich. (WLUC) - A man arrested for ramming into multiple vehicles in Escanaba avoided jury trial Monday by entering a plea back in October 2018.

Peter Stephen Walls, 28, pleaded no contest to assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder or by strangulation.

He was sentenced on November 13, 2018 to 30 months in prison to a maximum of 10 years.

Walls was driving a pickup truck on Lincoln Rd. when he rear ended a passenger vehicle. The pickup truck also drove through private property at a local business, struck a vehicle, and fled. The pickup then struck a passenger vehicle, causing it to turn over.

Reports say the pickup truck continued “ramming” into divers side of the other car, pushing it northbound. The pickup swerved off the roadway, hit a sign and then continued north. The pickup truck then crashed into the passenger vehicle that was stopped at a red light.

Two occupants were treated for non-life threatening injuries.
