Man arrested in Ironwood drug bust sentenced to prison
A man arrested after a drug bust in Ironwood has been sentenced to prison in Gogebic County Circuit Court.
47-year-old Jeffery Elton Schmiege was sentenced on three counts he pleaded guilty to. He received 15-30 years for count 1 of Delivery/Manufacture of Meth. He received 15-30 years for count 2 of Delivery/Manufacture of Meth, and he received 2-3 years for Count 6 of Maintaining a Drug House.
Schmiege was arrested after a search warrant was executed at his residence in Ironwood.
The Gogebic Iron Area Narcotics Team seized more than a half pound of crystal meth, marijuana, prescription medication along with a firearm and ammunition. Seven people were arrested after a three month investigation.
Schmiege was originally charged with six counts of Delivery/Manufacture of Meth, Conspiracy to Deliver Meth, Possession of a Firearm, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Felon in Possession of Ammunition, and Maintaining a Drug House.
