HOUGHTON, Mich. (WLUC) - Today Michigan Tech students held a clinic for those looking to up their Rubik's Cube skills.
It was part of the Houghton Rubik's Cube Rumble, a skill and performance workshop.
It was put on by the Michigan Tech Cube Club and featured Sydney Weaver, a 7 time gold medalist Speed Cuber.
Cube Club members say the popular puzzle is about much more than just matching the colored pieces.
"Its a process, you have to learn and memorize algorithms and understand patterns and improve your spatial recognition and understanding as well. Which goes far beyond just a cube," said Cube Club President Michael Conard.
The Rumble is just the beginning, tomorrow the club will be holding a speed cubing competition.
