"Back in August of 2019, the Michigan State Police started an investigation into a missing person's complaint, Jody Dean Howe,” said Michigan State Police Detective Sergeant of the Negaunee Post, Kevin Ryan.
At the beginning of the investigation, troopers say the 58-year-old man's last known contact was on August 21 from his home.
But through more research, the Michigan State Police have updated his last known whereabouts to Meijer at about 10 a.m. August 23 on video surveillance.
"Since then we've been using a bunch of updated technology trying to locate his whereabouts,” explained Ryan.
Howe’s sister initially called the Negaunee Post when she hadn't heard from him.
"Once the trooper started doing some investigation, I learned about the investigation and started assisting,” stated Ryan.
Ryan says the case is challenging due to limited information, but he and his team are pushing through to find more information.
He encourages the community to reach out if they know anything to give peace to Howe’s family.
"They are very concerned about his well-being obviously, and it would mean a lot to them to have an idea of where he is at,” he said.
