WELLS TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WLUC) - The Michigan State Police Gladstone Post is investigating a theft at a wedding last weekend.

According to a Facebook post, all of the cash gifts were stolen from young couple, Alex and Brittany Barnett, celebrating at the Terrace Bay Hotel between Escanaba and Gladstone on Saturday, Oct. 5.

In a statement to TV6 & FOX UP, Rick Elrod, the Marketing Director for Terrace Bay Hotel and Freshwater Tavern, said "...We are doing whatever we can to assist with the investigation and hope sincerely that they find who took the money."

Police say it's an open investigation, and they're not releasing any details at this time. Anyone with information should call the MSP Post in Gladstone at 906-428-4412.

Brittany's Mom made a Facebook post about the incident, which you can see embedded below. She also started a GoFundMe fundraiser with a $1,000 goal.

TV6 & FOX UP will have more on this story on Wednesday.
